My poem

I lack control
I lack faith
I lack things in life
but
God remains merciful and ever gracious
reminding me to repent and draw closer.
It is not for my own boasting
nor my strength
It is His strength,
and effort
more I should boast of Him
that He is the one who brings me
not myself.

I am nothing before Him
a sinner, worthless and dust
It is His Love that’s so deep like an ocean
that brings me to Him
Through Him, I am made clean
Joy through Him brings to me
Light I shall find on my path
Lamp I shall find on my feet
A road that He brings forth to the ever living glory.

 

basics of relationship…

I personally believe that there are three basic roles in relationship.

The three roles are trust, sharing and communication.

Communication – if you do not talk to the person how will you know him/her better? how will you improve the relationship? so talk to the person to know him/her better!

Sharing – If you do not share how you feel with the person, how will the person know if you are sad or upset? You cannot expect the person to read your mind everyday. How will you both face the problems in relationship if your emotions are not stable. If you have any issues with the person, please share your feelings! so the person may work on it!

Trust – If you do not trust the person, how will you leave things for him/her to do things alone or do things for you. You will not be feeling easy if you are not with him, in other word you might be thinking he is up to something mischievous. So put your feelings aside and start trusting the person since you are in relationship.

So these do not only apply to human relationship but a relationship with Jesus Christ.  What is a prayer? It is a communication! What is relying on Him – it is trusting! What is telling Him your troubles? It is sharing!

Friends, please keep in mind without these three roles, the relationship may diminish. Eventually, the heart shrinks, love grows cold and the light is fading away therefore it becomes a backslide. To keep the light burning, the heart big and love to grow is to keep praying, relying and sharing your burdens with Him! It is true that our Daddy is faithful and forever gracious but we must not take Him for granted.

Those three basic roles is entangled to one word “LOVE” If you truly love Him, you would do all these roles without having a second thought.

So lets love Him with our hearts, soul and mind.

May joy, peace and love sink in your heart!

 

Humble VS Pride

Recently, God provided me wisdom on this meaning of humble and pride. From what I have learnt during an expereince is that humbling yourself is a gateway to foundation of knowledge.  Think of this, if you have so much pride, of course you will not be willing to learn from others regardless of their status. In this way, you will gain nothing but folly.

I am eager to share with you whoever read my blog . Here I go! Since then I have joined my fellowship,  I realised that I am older than most people except my sister in christ (thankfully). You must be thinking “what does age got to do with this topic” I’ll explain, the older you get, the less you are willing to learn from people who are younger than you. So you see, with this pride “I am old, I should know enough, I don’t need to learn from people who are young and inexperience’

I have to admit that I had that kind of attitude but God taught me how to be humble. Even it was difficult to humble yourself. I remember the scripture :  

Psalm 25:9 He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.

John 4:10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

I humbled myself among people who taught me of many things about God and life.  I realised I have learnt and grown so much because I simply humbled myself.

So my friends, if you are willing to learn so much in life, first of all start being humble! God will provide richness of wisdom for you that no one cannot afford.

 

Interesting thing I saw this morning…

I was driving on the way to my work, I saw a huge sign next to church. The sign said “God is potter, not Harry”. I smiled and agreed that God is indeed our potter! He molds and shapes us in trials of our lives. This reminded me of another sentence “Do not be afraid and it is for My glory”

So dont be afraid! You all were chosen in this life for God’s glory.

a long weekend

Phew, I had a long weekend! On Friday I worked in the morning till the afternoon then I had to do things. The next day I worked again from 9am till 4pm then I had to go to uni to take a shower. I was afraid of being locked in or not be able to get in due to the fact that I do not have student card.  So I sms my friend asking if they are at uni or not. They asked why ? I told them I had to shower and their reaction was like WHAT THE….haha. The reason is that, I didn’t want to go home from work to have shower then go out again.. I am trying to save money on petrol since the price of petrol is going up and up.

At my friends birthday party was great, at first it was a daunting experience you see, I only knew 2 people out of 20-30 people! Besides I was kind of shy till later on I start to open to people and engaged conversation. I made few friends which I’m glad. The funny thing is that there was someone I remember seeing around 4 years ago. I was quite surprised to see that person in the party. What a small world! (but then this is BRISBANE..a tiny town) The food wasn’t too bad thou I enjoyed eating it, to be frank I have never ate those kind of posh food. I prefer a simple meal like u see, char keuy tew or ho fan (fried noodle) for a cheaper price. Maybe I am a simple guy.

On Sunday, I dragged myself out of bed and tried to do some exercises which I need badly. I gotta motivate myself to lose erm weight. Finally I managed to do some exercises and I’m quite pleased that I put an effort into it but I have to do that everyday. Maybe I should write a big banner in my room “don’t be like Santa Claus” or “Do u wanna have four or six pack tummy” maybe that would motivate me every time I look.  I know appearance is not important, but i think keeping fit/health is very important because I believe that if we do not exercises daily or even eat proper food that would consequently cause some problems when we grow old.  (maybe this would motivate me)

I went to church and enjoyed the sermon.  It was a good lesson for me because it gives me a big insight of what life is all about. It reminded me of the book called “PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE” I recommend anyone to read it. It helps you to understand why you are here, what is your purpose and why God did that.  Afterwards, I had dinner with brothers and sisters, the food was great! I enjoyed eating them and spending time with them.

The sad part is that Luke is going back to Korea next week, Im gonna miss him and hope to visit him in SEOUL one day. I should treasure every moment with him, so should you all!  Here is the pic of bro and sis (sorry couldn’t fit everyone in due to this restriction i dunno how to do it, u can look for more pics in flickr)

 

The race is not over.

Friends,

Life is once! Do not idle! Keep running, even despite u stumble just don’t stop! Keep running! Yes friends, I do know that we are not perfect, we are sinner before Christ. Indeed we do sin but do not let sin hold you so long! It is better to get on your feet and start running!

Brethrens, I do understand the guilt that any of us have sinned against Lord but it is better to get right with God and work on the problem you have. Also brothers/sisters would help you not to stumble but even if you stumble, they will encourage u to stand up on your feet and run together.

I was told that someone cannot go to church and pretend to give praise to God because he acknowledged that he keep sinning against Lord. It is true that we do hide our face from God because of the sin. But I personally believe we should allow God to help us to overcome it. Life is ONCE, why give it up? the race is not over till the end. Another thing you should know that the awesome thing is God promised that HE will never forsake us. Also Remember that, He gives us many chances, even several minutes before passing away. God’s grace is sufficient!

If you do have problems, do share among brothers/sisters and whats more important open your heart to heavenly Father and tell him that you need His help. He knows your heart, it cannot be hidden from Him.

I encourage you to keep running toward till the end. Run for Christ!

God is love and a vine we are branches extending our loves to the seeds, so the seeds sprout and become branches.

 

Easy to miss little things for big things

Don’t u realise that most of us look for big things instead of little things?

It occurred to me a long time ago that we tend to overlook small things that God plants in for us. Small things can become bigger things in many steps if we pay attention to it.

Sometimes God might be getting your attention by giving u little things. No matter how little things are, give thanks to God.

Why am i saying this? Because that time I was going to pay for my parking, then this nice guy came to me asking me “how long are u going to park here for?”. I answered him that question and he said that he have parking ticket for another hour and half. He gave me the ticket out of his kindness. I was surprised and gave my thanks to him. But what made me think more is God. I thanked God for this nice guy.

So given the wisdom from above, God is certainly good that He gives us little things we need  despite not thinking about needing it because in fact, we tend to look for big things.

In other word, God is our sole provider!

 

My perception of life

Life is like opening a present wondering what would it be inside. Could it be a surprise or a disappointment. Of course life is not meant to be easy. Whoever says it is easy needs a reality check. I believe in life, we have to take good with bad. Come to think of it, if we have a perfect life, how are we suppose to grow? how are we suppose to mature and lastly, we wouldn’t need God.

Indeed it is a joy that our heavenly Father shapes us by giving us trials so in that way we would make a choice by using our hearts and mind. Of course it does hurt Him to see us getting hurt in the process but He wants us to learn, mature and make right decisions.

Life is full of surprise, you never know what will happen therefore its better to stop worrying about what you will face. Believe me, worry is adding anxiety and troubles. It is better not to worry but trust Lord with ur heart , mind and soul. Indeed His plans will prosper you, not harm you. Trust Him to provide ur needs therefore again it is pointless to worry when Heaveny Father knows how many hairs you have and you are worthy than the sparrows. Importantly, heavenly father will not give us the burden that we are unable to handle.

Finally, it is better to enjoy life with friends, food, drinks and anything in life. Again I stress that do not worry, because you will get one eventually. Just lets ENJOY LIFE before anything happens. However, we are being given free-will, yes indeed everything is permissible but not everything is beneficial.
